Guides

Fourteen guides to Binance’s TradFi perpetual contracts — the instrument, the interface, the pricing machinery, and the four or five places where a position dies for reasons that have nothing to do with direction.

A TradFi perpetual looks like a stock trade and behaves like a crypto derivative. That mismatch is where most of the trouble comes from. Someone who has traded equities for a decade will recognise the ticker in NVDAUSDT and assume the rest follows: that the price is the stock price, that the market closes at four o'clock, that a dividend arrives in the account. None of those things are true here, and the contract will not tell you so.

These guides exist to close that gap. They are organised in the order the questions actually arrive. Start here establishes what the instrument is and walks through placing a first trade end to end. Mechanics covers the machinery Binance runs underneath: how the price index is constructed when the underlying market is shut, how the mark price is derived, how funding settles at the contract's stated interval, and what happens when the underlying company splits its shares or pays a dividend. Risk is about the controls that decide how much a bad trade can reach — leverage tiers, margin modes, and a checklist to run before the first order. Instruments deals with the two categories on the roster that behave least like the rest: leveraged ETF perps and non-US listings. Practical covers whether the product is open to your account at all, account setup, and the four separate costs of a round trip.

Everything factual in them traces to a Binance announcement, the product FAQ or the Binance Academy page, and every guide lists its sources. When Binance changes a mechanism or parameter, the latest dated source takes precedence. The standard futures fee schedule is public; your applied tier, discounts and trade-specific charges still need to be checked against your own records.

None of this is advice. It is a description of how the machinery works, written so that you can decide for yourself whether the instrument suits you.

One disclosure

One guide on this list (the account-setup guide) carries a referral link. No other page on this site does, and it changes nothing about what is written anywhere, including which contracts appear on the board. The full statement is on the disclosure page.
